MAGIC Market Week at the Top of the Apparel World

Approximate show size: 800,000-plus net square feet, 62,000 attendees, 3,500 exhibitors.
Who exhibits: Manufacturers and marketers of men’s, women’s and children’s apparel.
Who attends: Retailers of all shapes and sizes, from department store
chains to single-unit boutiques and everything in between.
Newest feature: In August 2012, Advanstar rolled out its Shop the Floor online platform for connecting MAGIC buyers and sellers throughout the year. It was tested in beta form last year and should be in full bloom for this year’s show.
Bottom line: Over the last few years, MAGIC Market Week has morphed into what is actually at least 10 different trade shows, each focused on a different niche of the apparel market. For decades now, it has been the leading retail apparel industry show and has only grown more dominant in recent years.
