Reed Exhibitions Greater China’s president for the last five years, Preecha S. Chen, relinquished his role effective Jan. 1. The new president of Reed Exhibitions’ operations in China is Nat Wong, who has been deputy president and COO.
“Preecha has led our China business by building pipelines relentlessly and winning acquisitions,” says Paul Beh, Reed Exhibitions regional president for Asia Pacific. “Preecha’s leadership and perseverance have enabled RX Greater China to reach this level of success.”
All together, Reed Exhibitions Greater China has a portfolio of 55 events across 11 industry sectors. Among them are PHARMCHINA, held each year in Guangzhou; the China International Health Expo, also in Guangzhou; and the Asia Golf Show in Shenzhen.
Although Chen plans to return to his native Thailand after leading RX China from Beijing since 2008, he will remain a member of the board of Reed Tradex, a joint venture with Reed Exhibitions in Thailand and Vietnam. After starting his own tradeshow company in 1984, he joined forces with Reed Exhibitions five years ago.
“I am very proud to have been part of an exceptional team of professionals and partnerships,” Chen says.
Wong, a Singapore native, was instrumental in launching the first International Design Forum in Singapore and organized the ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on the Environment in 1992.
