Reed Launches Two International Shows

Reed Exhibitions is launching targeted events in China and Austria, the company has announced.

Beginning in the second half of 2014, Reed MIPIM will offer MIPIM China. MIPIM China will be an exhibition and conference for real estate professionals interested in the country’s market. The event will be similar to MIPIM Asia—which will have a new conference-based format in 2013—but will focus more narrowly on China, Reed announced.

“By introducing MIPIM China in 2014, we will create an event which is much more deeply focused on the enormous potential of the Chinese market,” says Paul Zilk, president and CEO of Reed MIDEM.

The group’s largest show, MIPIM, concluded last week in Cannes, France, drawing 20,000 international real estate executives, up slightly from last year.

International Ski Market in Austria

Reed’s travel exhibitions wing has also announced the launch of the International Ski Travel Market (ISTM).

The event, slated to take place March 17-18 in Kitzbuhel, Austria, is modeled after the International Golf Travel Market, officials say. That show enjoyed record-breaking attendance in late February.

Like the golf event, ISTM will emphasize preplanned meetings between qualified buyers and sellers.

“With Reed’s portfolio of large-scale travel events spanning the globe, we are delighted to be able to launch a forum specifically dedicated to a niche sector of the travel industry,” says Peter Grimster, exhibition manager for Reed Travel Exhibitions.

Up to 80 tourism boards are expected, with 80 ski tour operators also pledged.
