Promote Press Interviews With a Media Hub

Want to create a spot on the show floor where bloggers and press can interview attendees and exhibitors? Take a cue from Wired Magazine, which worked with Precision Event Group to offer select show-goers and members of the press at CES 2010 a chance to rejuvenate from the busy trade show floor at its Recharge Lounge, a concept it first launched in San Diego at Comic-Con International last summer. Besides serving as a hospitality venue for invited guests, the space was a forum for the magazine’s editors and bloggers to interview show attendees and exhibitors about new products and trends for 2010 and to showcase advertisers’ new wares.

In addition to food-and-beverage stations organized around a “recharge, refresh, rejuvenate” theme, the lounge included a “gadget lab” featuring hot products curated from the show such as the newest Nokia phones, a wearable Contour HD camera that mounts onto a helmet or goggles and a SuperSpeed video camera from USB. As attendees checked out the gadgets on display, a WiFi helicopter with two cameras being controlled by an iPhone (called a Parrot AR.Drone) buzzed overhead.
