New hires at the Healthcare Convention & Exhibitors Association, Atlantic City Convention Center and the Anaheim/Orange County VCB.

  • Mike Pennington has been named executive vice president of the Healthcare Convention & Exhibitors Association. Pennington previously was president of the George Economic Developers Association.
  • Karen Totaro has been named general manager of the Atlantic City (N.J.) Convention Center in the latest change made under new venue managers Global Spectrum, which took over management of the convention center and Boardwalk Hall in January.
  • Totaro will work under Fran Rodowicz, who was named general manager of Global Spectrum’s Atlantic City venues in January. Totaro was previously assistant general manager of the Duke Energy Convention Center in Cincinnati. Rodowicz had been general manager of Temple University’s Liacouras Center in Philadelphia.

The International Association of Venue Managers has named Jeffrey Mann chief operations officer. Mann most recently was assistant general manager of the Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte, N.C.

The Anaheim/Orange County Visitor & Convention Bureau named Dana Pickle 
director of convention sales for central United States. Previously, Pickle worked at the Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau and Dallas Convention & Visitors Bureau.
