  • UBM Brazil has appointed Jean-François Quentin as UBM Brazil’s first chief operating officer. Quentin will be responsible for many of the day-to-day operations of UBM Brazil beginning in May 2014. Most recently he was CEO of the easyFairs Group.
  • Visit Indy in Indianapolis has named Daren Kingi its senior vice president of sales. Kingi most recently was vice president of sales for the Western Mountain Pacific Area for Marriott International, responsible for 65 Marriott-branded hotels in five major markets.
  • Shepard Exposition Services has named Amy Colbert national sales manager based in its the Orlando office. Colbert most recently had senior sales roles with the Walt Disney and Tampa Bay Buccaneer organizations.
  • Event technology provider GenieConnect named Stephen Jones head of development with the responsibility for new product development and Iain Halpin marketing director.
  • Fred Dixon was named CEO of NYC & Company last week, after eight years as executive vice president of market development, with the organization. Dixon has served as interim CEO since former chief George Fertitta left in December.
  • Karen Williams has been named president and CEO of the Louisville Convention & Visitors Bureau after acting as its interim head since January. Williams took over the bureau on the interim basis after the sudden resignation of Jim Wood, president and CEO for 11 years.
