NRECA Picks Orlando in 2015
The National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) will hold its 2015 Annual Meeting and Convention in Orlando and its 2016 meeting in New Orleans.
The announcements came at the conclusion of the 2014 NRECA Annual Meeting in Nashville, Tenn., which drew 9,600 attendees to the Music City Center.
In a statement, NRECA CEO JoAnn Emerson says Orlando’s Orange County Convention Center will allow the association’s TechAdvantage trade show, general sessions and other events to spread out. Convenient flight connections to Orlando helped make the case for the city, where the annual event will take place next Feb. 19-27.
Then, in 2016, NRECA will return to New Orleans, where the annual meeting was held in 2010 and 2013.
This year’s NRECA TechAdvantage took up more than 67,000 net square feet in the Music Center with 342 exhibitors, according to NRECA Meeting and Event Planner Eric Commodore.
Products typically on display at the NRECA TechAdvantage include electrical substation equipment, vehicles and tools, along with environmental consultants, software vendors and energy audit providers.
