Germany-based Messe Dusseldorf is making its presence known across the globe—the company made two big announcements over a four-day period that display the group’s dedication to an aggressive expansion across Asia.
On Tuesday the company announced that it would join forces with PT Wahana Kemalaniaga Makmur to jointly organize the staging of indometal 2013, also known as the International Metal and Steel Trade Fair for Southeast Asia.
“We are proud to announce that we are further expanding our presence in Southeast Asia, offering our customers and partners even more opportunities to widen and strengthen their presence in Indonesia and the region,” says Gernot Ringling, managing director of Messe Dusseldorf Asia, according to a news release.
Strong industry growth, a growing population and the strategic positioning of Indonesia within Asia are the main attributing factors of Messe Dusseldorf’s decision to launch the indometal event, according to prepared statements from the company.
Additionally, Messe Dusseldorf announced that it would increase exhibit space by up to 50 percent for the ninth edition of Medical Fair Asia, also known as the International Exhibition on Hospital Diagnostic, Pharmaceutical, Medical and Rehabilitation Equipment and Supplies event in 2012.
Messe Dusseldorf is expecting about 10,000 trade visitors from Association of Southeast Asian Nations and other Asia Pacific regions for the show and plans to collocate a new event, Medical Manufacturing Asia, with the Medical Fair Asia show in Singapore.
“Medical Manufacturing Asia 2012 comes at a time when the Asia Pacific medical device market is expected to account for 25 percent of global market share and reach $62.3 billion in revenue by 2012. The concurrently held trade fairs will offer synergies for specialists looking for diversified solutions,” a prepared statement from the group says.
Messe Dusseldorf is also citing a boom in the Southeast Asian healthcare market due to increasing improvements to regional healthcare systems, medical tourism, rising aging populations, higher life expectancy and economic developments, as reasons for expansion.
“The continually increasing participation and attendance at Medical Fair Asia with record numbers at the last staging in 2010, coupled with the booming medical and healthcare industry in Asia, is a clear indication of the growing need for a trade fair specifically dedicated to Asia’s medical and healthcare sectors,” says Ringling in a prepared statement. “It is also evidence of the exhibition’s role and position as a meeting place for all medical and healthcare professionals in Asia and beyond.”
