Istanbul Children’s Wear Showfloor Grows 25 Percent

UBM China officials say the Istanbul International Mothers Babies Children Products Fair, scheduled Jan. 17-20, will have a showfloor 25 percent larger than last year’s event at 37,000 square meters or 400,000 square feet.

Exhibit space devoted to clothing and accessories at the show has grown 70 percent in the last year. More than 300 exhibitors and 65,000 attendees are expected at what UBM China officials say is the largest children’s wear show in Turkey and the third largest in Europe.

The 22-year-old event will be held at the Istanbul CNR Exhibition Center in Istanbul, Turkey. Company officials point out that research indicates the infant products market in Turkey is growing approximately 12 percent annually.

Nearly a quarter of Turkey’s population is under the age of 30 and it is experiencing the second-fastest population growth rate in the world after India.

UBM China also organizes the Shanghai Children-Baby-Maternity Products Expo, the largest children’s products tradeshow in the world, each July at the Shanghai New International Expo Center.
