InterBev Splits Into Two Shows
Three years after acquiring InterBev and just three months after collocating it with FMI Connect, NürnbergMesse is splitting up its North American beverage industry expo.
The show will be divided into InterBev Beverage (June 10-13) and InterBev Process (Sept. 15-18) going forward. Both will continue to be held at McCormick Place in Chicago.
InterBev Process—the larger of the two, with 150 exhibitors and 2,000 attendees—will be held by itself in 2014, but will collocate with PROCESS Expo in odd-numbered years in the future. InterBev Beverage—with 100 exhibitors and 2,000 attendees—will remain part of FMI Connect on an annual basis.
“The two shows offer new, target group-specific venues for beverage wholesalers, retailers and online dealers, and for manufacturers and buyers of capital goods,” the company says in a statement.
The events are part of a strong international beverage portfolio for NürnbergMesse—BrauBeviale draws more than 1,300 exhibitors and 33,000 attendees for its show in Germany each year—and the company hopes to leverage that expertise in building out its now-separate properties.
“We are very glad that with InterBev Beverage and InterBev Process, we can draw on the extensive experience of the NürnbergMesse Group in these areas,” says Andrea Paulinelli, director of InterBev , in a statement. “With BrauBeviale, FachPack and BIOFACH we have three major shows, from which these two new shows can draw great benefit.”
She adds: “That gives us a great starting position for InterBev Beverage and InterBev Process to become the place where industry meets for the beverage trade and industry in North America.”
