NürnbergMesse North America and the Food Marketing Institute (FMI) announced the collocation of InterBev Beverage 2014 with FMI Connect: The Global Food Retail Experience, June 10-13, at McCormick Place in Chicago.
“InterBev is the premier beverage trade show in North America,” says FMI President and CEO Leslie G. Sarasin in a statement. “Given the strength of the beverage category in recent years, their presence will provide food retailers with multiple opportunities to explore new product innovations.”
In a deal with the American Beverage Association (ABA), NürnbergMesse acquired the soft drink and water InterBev event in September 2012, expanding it to include alcoholic beverages at its traditionally non-alcoholic show in October 2012 in Las Vegas. Despite being a minor category at the event, the extension did add more opportunities for exhibitors.
The FMI Connect tradeshow typically draws about 15,000 retailer and wholesaler attendees and 900 exhibitors.
“Interacting with InterBev’s impressive roster of exhibitors will spark new levels of creativity that can help to transform the beverage channel,” says Sarasin.
The ABA, a trade association that represents the non-alcoholic beverage industry, will continue to support InterBev through promotion to its membership.
“InterBev is an important industry event,” says Susan K. Neely, ABA president and CEO, in a statement. “With this collocation, it will further its reach and allow our industry to better showcase its great innovation.”
