HCEA Names New EVP

Mike Pennington has been named executive vice president of the Healthcare Convention & Exhibitors Association (HCEA) as part of a campaign the association describes as an effort to enhance its annual meeting, grow membership and increase value to members.

Pennington previously was president of the George Economic Developers Association. He joins a senior leadership team that already includes Executive Director Jackie Beaulieu.

Among other things, the association plans to overhaul its annual meeting, scheduled this year for June 21-24 in Cleveland, giving it a “fresh look and feel” and enhancing the conference content. HCEA reports it has signed 100 new members in recent months.

Pennington will focus on strategic direction and goals for the association.

“Mike brings a valuable set of skills, with 16 years of experience, including more than nine years of association and organizational management,” sais HCEA President Sue Huff. “HCEA is fortunate to have Mike strengthen our already committed team.”
