In early August, the marketing team for Hanley Wood's Remodeling Show and DeckExpo will hit the road to visit building material suppliers in an effort to market the event in a face-to-face setting.
In previous years, building material suppliers and lumber yards who serve the residential construction market, which the Remodeling show also targets, were marketed via traditional means—direct mail, for example. This is the second year that the marketing team has taken their message on the road, visiting 40 suppliers from August 2nd to August 6.
The marketing team talks up the benefits of the event and hands out free three-day exhibit hall passes and discounts for educational sessions. "Our attendees are still feeling the effects of the economy and are spending time and money cautiously," says Amy Allen, director of the Remodeling Show, DeckExpo and JLC LIVE, in a statement. "Any opportunity we can provide them to be able to attend the show at no cost or low cost is the ultimate goal."
The team will concentrate their tour and efforts to deepen relationships with suppliers in the Baltimore, southeastern Pennsylvania, western Maryland, northern Virginia and the District of Columbia areas. The Remodeling Show will be held mid-September at the Baltimore Convention Center.
