Global Pet Expo to Stay in Orlando Through 2019

The Global Pet Expo will be held at the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC) in Orlando through at least 2019. The announcement that the American Pet Products Association (APPA) has signed to extend its contract for five more years came on the heels of the most recent pet-related trade show March 12-14.

Andrew Darmohraj, executive vice president and CEO of the APPA, says there is no reason not to continue the long-term relationship between what is the largest pet-related trade show in the United States and the venue.

“We are thrilled to be able to call the OCCC home to Global Pet Expo for the next five years,” Darmohraj says in a statement. “Orlando has proven to be an ideal location for our show attendees for the past several years.”

Although official show statistics were not yet available, association officials estimated that Global Pet Expo would exceed the approximately 300,000 net square feet, 964 exhibitors and 15,000 total attendees of 2013.

Orange County Convention Center Executive Director Kathie Canning says in a statement, “We enjoyed an outstanding relationship with Global Pet Expo and the Orange County Convention Center is honored to be chosen as a long-term facility partner.”
