The metal forming, fabricating, finishing and welding event hosted by the Society of Manufacturing Engineers will be held at the GWCC Nov. 11-13 this year, as well. Organizers are expecting 27,000 attendees and 1,400 exhibitors at the show—up from 22,000 and 1,100, respectively, in 2010.
“Atlanta’s position as a major manufacturing hub makes the city a natural fit for Fabtech,” says John Catalano, group manager of the SME. “Our continued commitment to Atlanta is simply a result of our growing success.”
Fabtech maintains an irregular 4-year rotation, holding the show in either Atlanta or Las Vegas in even-numbered years and Chicago in odd years. Though typically larger when held in centrally located Chicago—last year’s show there had more than 40,000 attendees and 1,500 exhibitors, according to a release—the event has also grown steadily in the years its held in Atlanta and Las Vegas.
