Reflecting changes in the print imaging business, 1105 Media will launch a new event called the Business Imaging Expo focusing on managed information technology later this year. The event replaces the 15-year-old World Expo, whose primary focus had been the document print industry aftermarket.
The last World Expo was held in July at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino. The new Business Imaging Expo will take place Dec. 11-12, also at Mandalay Bay.
“The office technology industry is changing,” says 1105 Media Office Technology Group Publisher Patricia Ames. “Printed pages are shifting to mobile devices, printers are increasingly part of the larger managed information technology.”
The two-day tradeshow will be preceded by two one-day conferences that will be held in conjunction with the Office Technology Group’s editorial publications. Workflow magazine will present a conference track with speakers discussing business process optimization, content management and related topics. Imaging Channel magazine’s conference will focus on managed print.
While World Expo and its affiliated magazine, Recharger, started out focusing on the office products recycling industry, both have expanded in recent years to include more advanced cartridge technologies and managed print processes, among other industry developments.
Ames says this next move—to launch Business Imaging Expo—is a natural step in that progression.
“Business Imaging Expo recognizes these shifts and creates a centralized resource for all facets of the industry,” she says.
