Show organizers predict a doubt-digit increase for booth sales in 2006

Nearly 70 percent of show organizers are predicting that total revenue from booth sales will increase an average of 12 percent in 2006, according to the 170 show organizers who responded to an online survey conducted by EXPO Magazine and Exhibit Surveys Inc. in December 2005. Only 6 percent are expecting a decrease, while 25 percent expect revenue from booth sales to be about the same in 2006. Revenue from booth sales averaged $3.3 million in 2005 for all shows.

Compared with 2004, 67 percent of show organizers reported that total revenue from booth sales increased an average of 13 percent in 2005, while 19 percent reported that revenue stayed the same. For-profit show organizers reported an average increase of 14 percent, while association show organizers reported an average increase of 11 percent.

More than half of show organizers (55 percent) predict that sponsorship revenue will increase an average of 17 percent in 2006. Compared with 2004, 55 percent reported that sponsorship revenue increased an average of 15 percent in 2005.
